Prospective students
Our laboratory accepts students through the following programs in the School of Life Science and Technology at Institute of Science Tokyo:
- Undergraduate program: Department of Life Science and Technology.
- Graduate program: Graduate Major in Science and Technology for Health Care and Medicine (primary affiliation).
- Graduate program: Graduate Major in Life Science and Technology (secondary affiliation).
Undergraduate students
Students in the School of Life Science and Technology are provisionally assigned to a laboratory in the second half of their third year. In principle, they continue in the same laboratory for their final-year research project.
Third-year students take the Research Project course and work on a topic offered by their laboratory. In their fourth year, students conduct their graduation research through the Undergraduate Independent Research Project. See our research projects for an introduction to our work. We also hold laboratory information sessions before provisional laboratory assignments.
Master’s students
We accept master’s students through the Graduate Major in Science and Technology for Health Care and Medicine and the Graduate Major in Life Science and Technology. Applicants must complete the relevant admissions process, including the entrance examination.
Please consult the official graduate admissions information for application procedures and the current schedule for your admissions route. The university also provides a list of graduate majors.
Doctoral students and JSPS DC fellows
We accept doctoral students through the same two graduate majors. Please see the official graduate admissions information for application procedures, entrance examinations, and schedules for April or October entry.
We can also host doctoral students supported by the JSPS Research Fellowships for Young Scientists (DC). We offer support from the application preparation stage. Please contact us if you are interested.
